Welcome back! (Maybe you should be saying that to us—it’s been a while!) I’d like to introduce myself as Kelly, the newest addition to the PristinePlanet.com team. I am very excited to take on the role as the Social Networking Director and have a solid, broad vision on where we will attempt to expand Pristine Planet.com in terms of publicity. We believe it to be a positive decision that we also touch base with our valued visitors and implement our first official weekly blog.
We want to begin by saying, “Thank You”. For the Pristine Planet Merchants, our gratitude is not only for being members of Pristine Planet.com but more importantly, we sincerely appreciate knowing our vision of “paying it forward” is not in vain. It has been a highly successful first half of the year and we trust that the same has been for you.
In the recent months, we have been extremely busy making adjustments to our site and the customer service department to accommodate the rise in the number of new merchant accounts as well as increased traffic. We feel extremely fortunate to be able to provide an outlet to those interested in making their products available to consumers who are attempting to lighten their “carbon footprint” on this magnificent but fragile planet we live.
We have made it a top priority to use a portion of our energy to plunge into the social networking movement. We have recently become members of various social networks in hopes to bring more awareness to the green options available to consumers.
A few of the things you may have noticed include the fun facts displayed as you glide your mouse around the homepage, the expansion of the product categories, and the new search and sort tools within each category. We also added new icons to denote Merchant blogs, coupons, and sale items. A pair of scissors now denotes coupons
, blogs are denoted with a cartoon dialog box
, and any product on sale includes the red tag icon
. Our new sale page will help shoppers find products on sale by a particular category, merchant or tag.We feel fortunate to have recently been mentioned in a few high profile websites such as Forbes.com and Us News and World Report in their articles on resources for green living. PristinePlanet.com was also mentioned as a resource in the Gorgeously Green book (http://www.gorgeouslygreen.com/) that was featured on Oprah’s Earth Day 2008 show. David Bach and Hillary Rosner also mentioned us as a resource in the book Go Green Live Rich.
We also are extremely proud to sponsor a running team for the Gor-Tex Trans Rockies Run under the name PristinePlanet.com. You can check out their personal blogs and progress on These Are My Feet.
It is our optimistic hope that all of the recent exposure Pristine Planet.com has received has caused a ripple effect; helping our merchants see their vision of a better today and greater tomorrow, expand into something grand.
Until next week,
Kelly
